Irish Heritage – Norman Keep

15.00

In October 1171, King Henry landed with a large army in Ireland to establish control over both the Anglo-Normans and the Irish. The Norman lords handed their conquered territory to Henry. They built ‘keeps’ or tower houses throughout Ireland, including Reginald’s (rounded) tower in Waterford.
